BOM Specialist

MEYER MANUFACTURING has a rare opportunity for this area! - BOM Specialist

This person will work with engineering documents to transform them into a bill of material in our business software.  Willing to learn, understand, and perform work in AutoCAD and SolidWorks as needed.  Have the ability to create and enhance professional documents in software like Microsoft Word and AutoCAD.  Create professional technical documents as needed. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High school diploma required
  • Two years of experience working with bill of materials and engineering drawings preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD & SolidWorks is beneficial
  • Good understanding of engineering functions and engineering drawings
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, & Microsoft Windows
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Self-motivated, who can work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Results driven and action oriented
  • Experience with business software
  • Perform administrative functions as needed
  • Perform technical documentation as needed

Qualifications

• Attach hoses or nozzles to machines, using wrenches and pliers, and make adjustments to obtain the proper dispersion of spray.
• Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas, using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers.
• Examine, measure, weigh, or test sample products to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Hold or position spray guns to direct spray onto articles.
• Operate auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating or painting processes.
• Paint small items and perform touch-up painting, using paint brushes.
• Perform test runs to ensure that equipment is set up properly.
• Place items or products on feedracks, spindles, or reel strands to coat, paint, or spray them, using hands, hoists, or truck lifts.
• Record operational data on specified forms.
• Remove materials, parts, or workpieces from painting or coating machines, using hand tools.
• Select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays, or prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint mixing equipment.
• Set up and operate machines to paint or coat products with such materials as silver and copper solution, rubber, paint, glaze, oil, or rustproofing materials.
• Start and stop operation of machines, using levers or buttons.
• Start pumps to mix solutions and fill tanks.
• Transfer completed items or products from machines to drying or storage areas, using handcarts, handtrucks, or cranes.
• Turn dials, handwheels, valves, or switches to regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure and circulation, and the flow or spray of coatings or paints.

CNC Machinist

DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES:

1. Perform CNC Lathe and Milling machine set-ups for production part runs.

2. Load and adjust required tooling, jigs and fixtures

3. Select appropriate part program

4. Through CNC controls, load tooling and work offsets

5. Machine first part for batch

6. Operate and monitor CNC machines during production part runs

7. Interpret engineering drawing to determine required dimensions and tolerances

8. Perform quality inspections utilizing various precision measurement devices

9. Make necessary tooling and machine adjustments to produce quality parts

10. Perform basic machine maintenance and upkeep

11. Suggest improvements for processes, methods, and design to improve productivity

12. Troubleshoot machine errors and part variances

13. Operate manual machining equipment as needed

14. Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed

15. Maintain a positive attitude and interact with people at all levels of organization

16. Keep an organized and clean work area

17. Work safely and efficiently

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Print reading skills and knowledge of dimensioning and tolerances.

2. Working knowledge of CNC machines and program interpretation (G and M codes)

3. Working knowledge of basic mathematics

4. Demonstrated ability to operate CNC Lathes and Mills

5. Attention to detail and quality required

6. Ability to lift 50+ lbs on regular basis

7. Ability to work 10+ hours per day on feet in manufacturing plant
